Post-Production for the Animated Short, Robot Blossoms

Uh-oh, looks like someone completed their project!

I spent the day in DaVinci Resolve post-production for my animated short. I completed a couple of test uploads to the High-Poly Low-Poly YouTube Channel to assess the results of my visuals and audio once compressed by YouTube. I did end up making quite a few audio adjustments to find the right balance of background and dialogue. I also added transitions for audio and video as well as footsteps sound effects. A good bit of yesterday and the first half of today were powering through more DaVinci Resolve tutorials for color grading and for the software in general. See below for the tutorials I followed.

The screenshot below shows everything set for final output from DaVinci Resolve.

I’m going to sleep on it and see if I am still happy with the result tomorrow. If yes, then publish!

And on to the next project…

DaVinci Resolve 18 – Full Tutorial for Beginners
I finally, broke down and watched an overview tutorial of the software. I thought I was familiar enough with video editing software but I kept getting tripped up on some basic stuff. It was slowing me down too much. This was a really helpful starter overview. It covers the basics of getting up and running to produce a video. It does not cover all the different modes of the software, e.g. Fusion, Fairlight, etc. Each of the modes are multiple tutorials on their own.
