I Need Space…In My Landscape
The last couple of days my animated short was on pause while I continue to prep for Unreal Fest 2022. I’m really looking forward to meeting a lot of new folks and absorbing as much info as I can while attending. Intake the information, grow skills, produce something, repeat.
While I have had other tasks on my plate, I managed to carve out some time to make project progress today. While shot blocking in Unreal Engine 5, I realized I was running out of physical room for my animation to run as it would in real world space. I’m sure I could find ways to cheat the effect of something moving from point A to point B but I think my fastest way forward is to model out enough real estate that I can run my animation simulating realistic physical distance, speed and time.
The screenshot below shows me adding more landscape sections. You can also see I have a bunch of landscape paint layers. Probably too many but, maybe not 🙂
