Trying to Move Quickly

I am trying to make rapid progress on my latest animated short using Unreal Engine 5 in the hopes of publishing by end of week. By working on these smaller projects I hope to accelerate the pace and quality of my workflow as I learn through repetition while creating a finished work I can share on the High-Poly Low-Poly YouTube channel.

This time around I am moving much faster through my environment setup compared to my previous pace when I was working on Robots Blossom. I was able to set up my ray traced lighting and build up my environment just enough to start shot blocking some simple animations to get a good feel for what will be in camera. I am keeping things very rough and staying in camera view in one viewport as I work on the layout in my second viewport. This is a great way to keep me focused only on the details that matter. Even though I feel like I’m moving faster, I still probably have a day or two of shot blocking and environment work to do before I am in the production phase.

The screenshot below shows the environment work in progress. I love the assets I am using! See below for more information about the talented artists and their available assets on various marketplaces.
